(*sigh*)
HUZZAH!
Another magical season is underway at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire in Ohio!
I'm thrilled that some of my favorite bands have returned, including the haunting sounds of Silent Lion and the sometimes bawdy fun of Menagerie.
And I'm happy to see the Maidens IV there this year. They were a big hit at the annual Irish Scottish Festival at the Stark County fairgrounds in Canton back in June... and we were delighted to be treated to a second helping of celtic class at the GLMF.
E Muzeki is also an exhilirating addition to the Great Lakes Faire this season. Picture Morgana dancing in Arabian Nights... and gypsies twirling by moonlight! If you can dig that, check them out on-line!
Of course the games and refreshments are always outstanding as well... but you know me.... I'm a music-lovin' kinda gal! Huzzah!
Arrrrgh!
"All grown-ups are pirates!" - The lost boys in the movie, "Hook"
Being a girl, I never had a chance at becoming a "lost boy." My best hope was to get to be Wendy and darn socks and tack-on Peter's shadow while the lost boys fluttered around my skirts (enter apathetic "yay" here.) I'm too big and awkward to become one of the Fae Folk.. not to mention my unmistakable lack of wings. And now that I'm 31, I guess there's nothing left to do but become a pirate! I have the tall, black boots... and the thirst for rum! All I need is a ship and a star to steer her by! And maybe a crew. ...and a nice, big feather for my hat. And a hat. A compass wouldn't hurt. ... and definately MORE rum...!
